The Sea and Cake

Let me start by saying, since college, I've been a long time fan of The Sea and Cake. Also a big fan of Tortoise, which was recorded, edited and mixed by John McEntire of Sea and Cake. One evening, our sound maven Chris Payeur said she's worked with them in a past life and that they might be into doing a Transistor Six feature, that was all I needed to begin bugging Chris every time I saw her.

Then one day Chris puts me in touch with John via email in Mach of 2012 and we try and set it up, John says they won't be in Austin until November and to hit him back as we get closer to the gig. Fast forward 6 months and I email again and we are locked in. It's now been the better part of a year and we finally get to put this out!

We shot the film for the song "Pacific" at one of our favorite clubs in town called The Mohawk. The show was in support of their new album "Runner". Never getting to see them live, this was a pretty great night. The outdoor club filled up pretty fast and soon the band took stage and got into their 17 song set including some favs like "Weekend", "Window Sills", "Harps", "On and On", "A Mere" and many others.

Their latest album Runner. can be found at your local record store, but just incase you don't have a local record store you can get yours here: http://bit.ly/12nSqQb
